MoneyComon is a free set of calculators for the Korea electricity bill (progressive tariff), air conditioner cost, city gas, and water bills.
Every calculation runs in your browser, and the results are provided transparently based on official rate tables and formulas.
What MoneyComon is
MoneyComon is a free set of tools that help anyone quickly gauge the electricity, gas, and water bills households face every month. It breaks down the complex progressive structure and the sum of base charge, usage charge, taxes, and funds, item by item, so you can understand why your bill came to that amount.
Operating principles (E-E-A-T)
- Experience — we mirror the actual item structure used on real electricity, gas, and water bills, breaking results down item by item.
- Expertise — calculations are based on official rate structures, including the KEPCO residential low-voltage progressive rates, 10% VAT, the 3.7% electricity industry fund, and city gas and water progressive rates.
- Authoritativeness — we point to the standards and source links of official bodies such as KEPCO, city gas companies, and local waterworks authorities.
- Trustworthiness — we openly show the formulas and unit rates and clearly state that variable rates are estimates. Inputs are never collected or stored.
Data sources
The rate tables and unit rates used in each calculator are based on the following official sources. Rates can change yearly or quarterly, and we update to the latest values when they do.
- Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) — residential low-voltage progressive rates, base charge, climate-environment charge, fuel cost adjustment
- KEPCO Cyber Branch — actual bills and rate lookup
- Your local city gas company — usage charge rates by use type
- Your local waterworks authority — household water supply and sewerage progressive rates, water-use charge
A note on accuracy
All MoneyComon results are reference estimates based on your inputs and published formulas and average rates. Electricity bills can differ due to seasonal tiers, welfare discounts, and fuel-cost adjustment changes; city gas due to local company and calorific conversion factor; and water due to differences in local-government rates. Confirm the final amount on your KEPCO, city gas, and local-government bills.
